The Sony HDC-1700L is a multi-format camera system equipped with the latest three-chip 2/3-inch type CCD image sensors when combined with the 16-bit A/D converter provides picture quality and low signal-to-noise ratio. The Sony HDC-1700L system offers 1.5Gbps optical fiber transmission capabilities for use in studio. The Sony HDC-1700L is also compatible with existing viewfinders, master set-up units, remote control panels, and HDC-series compatible large lens adapters making this camera at home in your existing workflow.

Superb Image Quality with Cutting-edge Technologies

With 2/3-inch CCD image sensors, the newly developed digital signal processor (DSP) LSI provides superior S/N levels as well as better functionality. Also, a 16-bit A/D converter produces optimal visual imagery and enhanced black reproduction.

Adaptive Matrix Function

With the Adaptive Matrix function, images with well-balanced details can be reproduced even in strong monochromatic light conditions, such as at stage events.

Auto Lens Chromatic Aberration Compensation (ALAC-2)

With the newly designed DSP LSI, the ALAC-2 function automatically compensates for lens chromatic aberration. ALAC-2 works in both horizontal and vertical directions. * Lenses need to be corresponded to ALAC feature.

Options Expand Usage

There are many optional accessories for the HDC-1700, including the HKC-DF20 Dual Optical Filter Unit and HZC-PSF20 Signal Format Software (1080/23.98p, 24p, 25p, 29.97p). These options supports a range of different shooting scenes and requirements.

Spirit Level

With the MEMS-Acceleration Sensor, the horizontal level can be displayed on the viewfinder screen, which helps particularly with wide-angle shooting.

HDLA Large Lens Adaptor Maximizes Operability

HDLA-1500, HDLA-1505, and HDLA-1507 adaptors maximize the operability of the HDC-1700. These optional adapters provide flexibility when applications require a large studio lens, and camera operators want to maintain hard camera control. They facilitate simple connectivity without time-consuming wiring and adjustments.

1.5 Gbps Optical Fiber Transmission

The HDC-1700 is capable of long-distance signal transmission up to 2,000 meters with the HDCU-1700 Camera Control Unit. * The HDC-1700 is only used in combination with the HDCU-1700.

HDCU-1700 Camera Control Unit (CCU)

The HDC-1700 can be configured with the HDCU-1700 dedicated camera control unit (CCU), which is a 19-inch half-rack size portable CCU for fiber cable connection. The HDCU-1700 CCU can control camera menu settings and display fiber condition on the front panel. It has an expansion slot for the four HD/SD SDI outputs board; and the option board slot is used for HKCU option cards to expand the CCUs output capability to include VBS out, PIX out, WFM out and component video out
